Wilde Artists & Performers

Wilde Artists and performers are at the heart of what we’re about. We plan and co-ordinate projects that make up our portfolio in the community. Our core team often appear in staged events alongside guests. We offer workshops in creative writing, radio production, storytelling, performance and poetry.  

 

 Culture
Culture has been on the West London Poetry scene for over twenty years, performing at women writers events and Black History events. She is JustWrite's Poet-in-Residence and adds comedy and tragedy elements to her performances. She has performed nationally and internationally at cultural events and is a talented mistress of ceremony.

 

 Rasheda Ashanti Malcolm

Rasheda is a writer, author, broadcast journalist and workshop facilitator. She has a BA (hons) in Media Studies, and an MA in Creative and Transactional Writing. Currently Rasheda is working on her first novel.

 

Still Waters

Najjah Edwards aka Still Waters is a poet and short story writer. She is currently working on compiling her first book of poems and loves performing her works. 

 

 Amina Blackwood Meeks
Amina is Jamaica’s renowned Story-teller and a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mona with a Hons Degree in Political Science. She is also a trained teacher in Early Childhood Education and a Communications Specialist, developing and presenting programmes for radio, television and the print media. Amina is also a Community Animator, developing and conducting empowerment workshops for women in community-based organisations. Amina is the Jamaican Patron of WildeJam.

 

Dr. Opal Palmer Adisa
Jamaica-born, a sought-after speaker who has lectured throughout the United States, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, England and Europe. An award-winning poet and prose writer Dr. Adisa has eleven titles to her credit, including the novel, It Begins With Tears (1997), that Rick Ayers proclaimed as one of the most motivational works for young adults. She has been a resident artist in internationally acclaimed residencies. Opal is the US Patron & Ambassador of WildeJam.

 

 Poppy Seed
Poppy Seed presents poetic jazz roots and culture that has been described as being on the 'cusp of poetry and song.' She has also been described as being a 'cut between Eryka Badu, Bob Marley and a breeze of her own. R&B and pop influences enhance the themes of her poetry, and the lyrics are socially and environmentally aware, conscious and well crafted.

 

Redhed
An artist who goes by the name of Redhed, Red - a colour worn by many ancestral tribes, for guidance, strength fertility and virility. She is a writer, poet, singer, event creator & coordinator, a mentor and a mother. Redhed has accomplished a series of successful

tours around Europe and the term 'Lawd have mercy' comes to mind when you see her perform.
