| "One, One Coco Full Basket" Wilde Campaign Help us to make this a reality! Wilde Creative Centre, JA With the growth of women entering the creative industry, the situation of Jamaican women, especially rural women, is that they are more likely to left out of the cultural and creative development of Jamaica. Rural women are often viewed as ‘baby mothers’ whilst their urban counterparts are seen as middle stratum, professional single mothers. We intend to change this imbalance by offering rural women the opportunity to develop themselves through creative channels. We know that women are keen to speak out and to tell their stories.
Wilde International Network is currently running a campaign to provide a creative platform for rural women in Jamaica where they can develop skills which could assist them to develop economic independence. We aim to raise £100,000 to establish a creative centre, where women and girls can benefit artistically in the written and spoken arts. Included in this is our aim to establish a library of new and used books and a radio studio to train women in radio production. If you are interested in making a donation, please make a cheque payable to Wilde Network and post to The Masbro Centre, 87 Masbro Road, London W14 ORL.
