WildeJam creative writing workshops combine literary interaction with the opportunity to explore, reflect and relax. Participants should expect to attend the daily workshops from 10am-1pm and use the rest of their time to discover and enjoy the island. The workshops introduce writers to Jamaican culture through interaction with their counterparts, and are intended to advance their work-in-progress or aid in starting a new piece of work. The workshops are on offer for women, facilitated by women writers & poets from the UK, US, Africa and Jamaica.
Wilde Jam is a melting pot of creativity where female poets, writers, journalists, authors and broadcasters develop and share skills and knowledge in an effort to preserve African and Caribbean traditions. Have you ever wondered what contribution women of African and Caribbean origin are making to society, politics, cultures, and intellectual traditions? How is Caribbean womanhood defined and articulated? Who captures this information so that other women and children can share and learn from these experiences? You got it . . . Writers! WildeJam Creative Writing Prize This prize aims to celebrate and acknowledge budding Jamaican writers living in Jamaica Categories Short story: no more than 5000 words Poetry: Up to three poems Who should enter? This competition is open only to unpublished Jamaican women writers/poets who are over 16 years of age and living in Jamaica. You must confirm that you have not been published. If you are self-published or if your work has appeared in newspapers or anthologies, you are eligible to enter. Writers retain all rights to their work.

Audience participation is high, featuring women and men from every walk of life . . . across generations, careers, perspectives and backgraounds.
